Sport Bedford
Sport Bedford (previously Bedford Local Sports
Council) act as an advisory body to the Council on local
sporting issues. They also act as agents for the Council by
distributing grants to talented local sports people, and coaches
who require assistance with attending coaching courses. The group
is a recognised community Sports Network and has developed its own
local active plan.

The group is a voluntary organisation made up representatives
from a wide range of clubs, groups and agencies with a common
interest in promoting, supporting and delivering physical
activities fro the community.
The group is involved with the development of local facilities,
advising the Borough Council on Sports related issues, running
training programmes and events.
The group meets regularly on a monthly basis, has a clear action
plan and a desire to improve sporting opportunities for all.
Grants
All the Borough Council's Sports Grants are co-ordinated through
the section and advice is given to a range of different
organisations. The section also advises on other sources of
external funding for voluntary groups, in particular Lottery and
