Allotments in Bedford

Bedford Borough Council owns and manages over 300 allotment plots.

  • Allen Park, situated at the end of Old Ford End Road
  • Goldington Field, Barkers Lane (opposite Wendover Drive)
  • Newnham Avenue (entrance next to Priory Methodist Church)


January 2017: Plots are available at all sites.

Rental charges for the year April 2017 to March 2018 are:

  • Full rate, up to full plot size: £55.80
  • Full rate, up to half plot size: £27.90
  • Concessionary, up to full plot size: £32.70
  • Concessionary, up to half plot size: £16.40

Access to sites is via keys supplied against a £10.00 deposit. All sites have a water supply (April to September) and security fencing.

There is a Trading Shop at Newnham Avenue allotments, the opening hours are normally:

Wednesdays and Saturdays from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm
Sundays 10.00 am to 12.00 midday
