Allotments in Bedford
Over 300 allotment plots are administered by the Borough
Council. They are located on three sites:
- Allen Park, Old Ford End Road
- Goldington Field, Barkers Lane (opposite
Wendover Drive)
- Newnham Avenue (entrance next to Priory
Methodist Church)
There are short waiting lists for all sites.
All sites have a water supply (April to September), security
fencing and access is via keys.
The cost of renting a full plot for the year April 2013 to March
2014 is £50.50 per year, with a concessionary rate of £29.60 for
senior citizens, students or if you are unemployed.
Half plots are usually offered to new tenants so that as many
people as possible have the opportunity to cultivate a plot.
