Save Money with the Bedford Leisure Card

What is the BEDFORD LEISURE CARD?

The Bedford Leisure Card is a discount card which can save you money on activities at all leisure facilities provided by Bedford Borough Council. As well as using your card for discounts on all your favourite leisure activities, you can also obtain discounts on selected events at the Bedford Corn Exchange, shops, restaurants and entertainment venues.

Leisure Card Benefits Include:

Swim Card

Whatever your age, swimming is a healthy way to stay in shape all year round. If you swim regularly you can make big savings with a Swim Card.

• Casual swimming at Kempston Pool, Robinson Pool and Bedford Oasis Beach Pool
• All the benefits of the Leisure Card
• You can pay by one single payment or by 12 monthly Direct Debit instalments

(Excluding special sessions you are entitled to swim at all casual times)

Golf Card

Mowsbury Golf course is a splendid undulating 18 hole course offering a fair challenge to both beginners and low handicap players. The Golf Card gives you unlimited use of the course with up to 8 day advance booking which means you can play when it suits you. There are two types of card:

• Seven Day Card - Monday to Sunday
• Five Day Card - Monday to Friday
• All the benefits of the Leisure Card
• You can pay by one single payment or by 12 monthly Direct Debit instalments

Images Gym Card

• Images Gym Card - Unlimited use of an Images Fitness Suite of your choice and free swimming at the Swimming Pool at that site.
• All the benefits of the Bedford Leisure card
• You can pay by one single payment or by monthly Direct Debit instalments.

Gym Plus Card

• Unlimited use of all three Images Fitness Suites
• Unlimited swimming at Kempton Pool, Robinson Pool and Bedford Oasis Beach Pool
• Unlimited use of fitness classes at Robinson Pool, Kempston Pool, Oasis Pool and Bunyan Centre (Peak members only at Bunyan Centre) 
• All the benefits of the Leisure Card.
• You can pay by one single payment or by monthly Direct Debit instalments

Type of Cards and How much do they cost?

Before selecting your card check the concession box to see if you qualify for a concession card.

What is a Concession?

We offer concession prices to people who fall into any of the categories listed in the concession box on the application form. All of the cards look the same, therefore if you obtain a concession card you will not be identified by a different card. The discount you receive will automatically be deducted when you present your card on each visit .

Do I qualify for a Concession?

Check the concession box to see if you qualify. If you are applying for a Leisure Card and you are in concession groups 1-24, you pay a reduced amount for your card.

People applying for a Golf or Swim Card, who fall into any of the 24 concession groups pay the concession price for the card (HJM).

If you apply for a concession card you will need to provide documents which prove you are eligible.

Who can obtain discount?

• Everyone who obtains a Leisure Card receives discounts (see Discounts, Benefits, Choices).
• Everyone who has a card can obtain discounts at shops, restaurants and entertainment outlets which are partners in the scheme
• Juniors, Senior Citizens and Disabled People.
• You currently receive a 50% discount on certain leisure admission prices. If you purchase a concession card the discount increases to 70% off the price, plus all the other Leisure Card benefits.
• All other concession groups

Without a Leisure Card you will pay the normal admission prices. With a concession card you can obtain the additional 70% discount on certain admission prices, as well as all the other Leisure Card benefits.

How to apply

To request an application form please click here.  Once you have received the form, complete all eight sections of the attached application form. You need two passport size photographs for each person applying for a card, please attach these to your form.

In person - take your completed application form and concession documents to:

Bedford Athletic Stadium, Bunyan Sports Centre, Kempston Pool, Robinson Pool, Oasis Beach Pool, Mowsbury Golf Club or Bedford Corn Exchange.

If applying for a concession card your documents will be checked and returned to you while you wait. Your application will then be sent to the Leisure Card Office to be processed and your card will be posted to you within 14 days.

By post - your completed application form, photographs, appropriate fee and photocopies of your concession documents should be sent to:

Payment Methods

• Cash Only if you apply in person at one of the leisure facilities.
• Cheque Please make cheques payable to Bedford Borough Council
• Credit or Debit Card Put your card number in the box provided on the application form. If paying by Switch we also need your card issue number
• Direct Debit If you wish to pay by Direct Debit you are required to pay your first payments by cash, cheque or credit card when you apply.
• If you apply in person you will be asked to complete a form instructing your bank to make the payments, you will need to have your bank account details with you. You will also be asked to sign the Direct Debit Terms & Conditions.
• If you are applying by post please call the Leisure Card Office and we will send you the forms
