The Stadium is home to four resident
clubs;

Bedfordshire Blue Raiders American Football
Club
Bedford and County Athletic Club
Bedford & County AC is one of the
leading athletic clubs in the South and East of England and
competes at the highest levels in Track & Field Athletics, Road
Racing and Cross Country Running. All sections of the club, men and
women, young and old, are achieving success on the track, in the
field, over the country and on the roads. Our home track Bedford
International Athletics Stadium hosts many major meetings each
year.
The Club welcomes new members of all ages
and abilities.

Bedford and County run a range of
opportunities for young people. These include;
BedfordBeagles – For 7 to 11 year
olds, provides FUN athletics based activities for all abilities.
Beagles provides an introduction to competition and is also the
feeder group into the Club’s Passport group. Every
Saturday morning from 10.45 am to 12.15pm.

Cost: No annual membership fee, for new
starters £4 per week for the first four sessions after which each
session attended costs £2.50.
Passport to Athletics – A
friendly session for 11-14 year olds. Passport provides an
introduction to all the main athletic disciplines and events giving
young athletes the opportunity to discover what they are best at
and really enjoy before moving to event specific training
groups.

Cost: Four week trial membership is £10,
thereafter an additional £80 for the Clubs annual
membership.
Young Athlete Development –
14 years plus. Those wishing to take up athletics can attend during
Club training times. The format will allow them to introduce them
to a group and coach to train with who match their own aspirations.

10.30am – 12.30pm
Bedford Harriers Athletics Club
Bedford Harriers was formed in 1985 by around
a dozen people who got together to organise a road race (The
Bedford Marathon). Since then, the club has grown steadily and
there are now over 450 members. The Harriers are primarily an
adult running club with ages from 17 upwards; there is no upper age
limit. The male – female ratio is around 50-50. The Harriers
meet every Monday and Wednesday evening at 6.30pm at the Bedford
International Athletic Stadium and following a combined warm up
session which involves the whole club, the members split into
around ten groups of varying abilities. These training sessions are
typically attended by over 100 members and usually last around 75
minutes. If you are interested in running with the Harriers and are
able to run for 40 minutes you are welcome come along & join
the Harriers on any Monday or Wednesday evening. Please report to
Reception on arrival. For those who are new to running, the club
organises an absolute beginner’s induction night each April. This
induction night is then followed by a structured programme of
training. There are Friday night Harriers track sessions or indoor
circuits 6:30pm – 7:30pm. They are open to members of all running
abilities. In addition to its coaching and running activities,
Bedford Harriers also stage a number of road races each year
including the Wootton Half Marathon and the Oakley 20. These races
attract over, 3000 entrants.

Bedford Swifts RFC
Formed on the 31st March 1950, Bedford Swifts
are a well established and popular amateur Rugby club, providing
the opportunity to play Senior & Vets rugby for all abilities.
Club training is 7:15pm Wednesdays at the Bedford International
Athletic Stadium. Matches are played on Saturdays. There are 2 full
size pitches, one with match quality floodlights, with changing,
showers & a bar in the Stadium.

Bedfordshire Blue Raiders American Football Club
Established in 2006, the Club trains &
Plays home games on the award winning full size American Football
pitch at the Bedford International Athletic Stadium with changing,
showers & a bar in the Stadium. There are also indoor training
sessions in the Stadiums large sports hall prior to the start of
the season.
Sunday training sessions: Senior team (players
aged 18 and over) begin promptly at 10.30am to 1.30pm, Youth player
training is 2pm to 4.30pm.
