Reablement Support Workers & Home Carers - Apply Anytime

New Opportunity! New Career!

We are looking to expand our successful, highly motivated and committed Reablement Team and Homecare Team.  You can apply for these roles at any time, so please carry on reading to find out more.....

Reablement Support Workers

Salary: £17,007 - £17,391 pro rata

Hours: Various shifts available, 16, 20 and 25 hours per week, with the opportunity to work additional hours if you are able

Contract: Permanent

Reference Number: P000837

Reablement is about giving people over the age of 18 years the opportunity, motivation and confidence to relearn/regain some of the skills they may have lost as a consequence of poor health, disability/impairment or an accident, and to gain skills that will help them to maintain their independence.  It’s about helping people to find new ways of doing things.  We work with adults across Bedford Borough whose independence may be at risk if they do not receive this service from us.

Reablement Support Workers are required to provide ‘hands on’ personal care to service users and must be able to carry out physical care tasks, handling and moving techniques (experience of manual handling is preferred, but training will be given).

Reablement provides a temporary service and will be provided for up to a maximum of 6 weeks.  The emphasis will be to encourage the individual ‘to do’ for themselves, not to ‘do to’ them.  Trained staff will work with individuals in their own home to ensure that they are supported and enabled to practice daily living skills safely.  Reablement also facilitate safe and timely hospital discharges.

The Reablement Service is committed to developing a culture of promoting independence and has a strong teamwork ethic.  This service runs between 7.30am and 10.00pm, 365 days a year.

Hours: Various shifts available

Contract: Permanent

We also have opportunities for candidates to join our developing Community Homecare service to work closely with service users to maintain their independence in their homes.  The Homecare service provides more long term, intensive support to people in their own homes.

We are looking for people who have an interest in working in the care industry who are self-motivated, enthusiastic and also eager to learn.  An NVQ level 2 in care would be preferable but is not essential as we will provide full training.
