Swine Flu

Swine influenza is a respiratory disease normally found in pigs but human cases can and do occur.

Bedford Borough Council is working with organisations across Bedfordshire to make sure we are prepared for any possible spread of the disease.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) and the National Health Service (NHS) have systems in place which will alert public health authorities of any unusual flu strain circulating within their area.

For the latest information on Swine Influenza please visit the NHS website, HPA website or call the national Flu Information Line on 0800 1 513 513.
