Alzheimer's Society Bedfordshire and Luton
The Alzheimer's Society is a charitable
organisation providing information, support and services to people
living with all types of dementia, their carers, family members,
health professionals, and anyone else with concerns about their
memory or that of someone else.
Dementia support and information available from
Dementia Support Workers, either over the phone, by pre-arranged
home and office visits, at Memory Assessment Services, or at
Dementia Support Service points available at various locations
across Bedfordshire and Luton.
Carer Information and Support Programmes run
several times a year in various locations, for carers to attend and
receive information and support to aid them with caring for a
person living with dementia.
Activity, cognitive stimulation, peer support
and ‘Singing for the Brain’® groups are also available at various
locations in Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire and Luton, for
people living with dementia and their carers to meet and join in
with stimulating activities.
Please note for some groups there is a charge.
Information and dementia support services are free.
Referral can be via Social Services, your GP,
the Memory Assessment Service, self-referral, or by anyone with
concerns about an individual.
Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm (24-hour
answerphone). Please contact the office to make an appointment
before visiting the office, in order for us to ensure the correct
member of staff is available for you
