Healthwatch Bedford Borough
It is a requirement of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 that
Healthwatch Bedford Borough be commissioned by Bedford Borough
Council from April 2013.
Healthwatch Bedford Borough is the
new local consumer champion for publicly funded health and social
care. Its functions can be summarised in three lines.
- Influencing – helping shape the planning of
health and social care services
- Signposting – helping people access and make
choices about care
- Information, advice and guidance – including
independent advocacy for individuals making complaints about
healthcare
