Children's Trust

The requirement for all Local Authorities to have a Children’s Trust came as a result of Lord Laming's review of of the death of Victoria Climbie.  Lord Laming said that it is vital for all agencies who work with children, young people and their families to work more closely with each other and to communicate better with each other.

Launch of our Children and Young People's Plan 2010 - 2013

All Children’s Trust work to a plan called the Children and Young People’s Plan or CYPP, and we are delighted to launch our Plan for 2010 to 2013.

The CYPP is a joint strategy, from all the partners in Bedford Borough Children’s Trust, setting out how we are all going to work together to improve outcomes for children and young people in the Borough.

In developing our CYPP, we have used our Emerging Needs Analysis to help us develop our cross cutting themes, priorities and actions for the next three years.  The Emerging Needs Analysis gathers all available performance data, demographic information and intelligence about the children and young people and their families in Bedford Borough.
