Safeguarding Disabled Children spotlight event report

Safeguarding disabled children is a key area of focus for the Bedford Borough Safeguarding Children Board. This spotlight event report consisting of a range of evidence and feedback from a workshop on 25th January 2017, aims to help us understand how many disabled children are receiving early help and safeguarding services; what is working; and the barriers and enablers for promotion, identification, and safeguarding the wellbeing of disabled children. Performance Assurance Questions (Appendix A) provide further pointers for individual organisations and the LSCB. Click here for the report

The NSPCC has published a report which identifies key issues about safeguarding disabled children. It looks at why disabled children are particularly vulnerable; examines the policy context and the current state of safeguarding services in the UK; and sets out recommendations for improving the protection of disabled children.
