with a central place to find information regarding all aspects of

Carers Cafe
The Carers Cafe is somewhere the carer, cared for and
immediate family can go to meet new people, socialise and enjoy the
services being provided. Support and information for
carers is available alongside a variety of activities and
treatments. These include massages, facials, hairdressing,
chiropody and activities such as photography and microwave cooking
demonstrations. More information available here
Carers Break
NHS Bedfordshire have provided a grant to support unpaid carers
who have a long standing health condition or whose health is
affected by their caring role. Carers can apply for a grant of up
to £200 towards a service that benefits their health and
wellbeing. Visit the Carers in

Carers Lounge
Carers in Bedfordshire has opened the Carers Lounge based
in Bedford Hospital on the ground floor in South Wing. (Follow the
signs to the “Committee Room").
At The Carers Lounge you will be able to meet carer support
workers and on different days there will be staff that specialise
in areas of supporting carers. They are there to offer
advice, support and information to visiting carers of all ages and
to identify new carers.
So if you are visiting Bedford Hospital, please call in for a
coffee and a chat! No appointment or referral is
needed.

Carers Support Groups
Carers in Bedfordshire run a range of
support groups that are open to all carers of any age and any
background. They are a great place to meet other carers in a
similar situation, or to have a chat with one of our experienced
support workers. Read here

Young Carers Break
NHS Bedfordshire have provided a grant
to support young carers. Young carers under the age of 18 can
apply for a grant to go towards a service that will benefit and
enhance their wellbeing. More information is available on the Carers in

Young and Sibling Carer Support
Groups
Carers in Bedfordshire run 13 support
groups a month for our Young Carers and Sibling Carers that are
aged 4 to 16 in order to allow them to be children and to meet
other children in a similar situation. Please find
