Who can Foster?

Almost anyone can become a Foster Carer. All we ask is that you have a spare bedroom for the child and you will need to be clear of any criminal convictions. Some experience in childcare would be useful, though you don’t need to be a parent yourself.

We welcome enquiries from people of all religions, races, genders and sexuality. You can be single, with a partner or married and owning your own home isn’t essential. Our Foster Carers reflect a wide range of circumstances and life experience and we assess every application on an individual basis.

If you'd like to find out more about fostering, staff can answer any questions help you decide if you’d like to start the process. Just give us a call on 01234 718718 or

email adoptionandfostering@bedford.gov.uk
