Will I need a Waste Permit?

Small quantities of demolition waste (soil, brick, rubble, doors, household fitted items) are accepted if it is from your own home.

If you have a large quantity of waste you will need to obtain a permit before you can use this site. For DIY waste, visits are restricted  to 1 trip per month, 6 items per month (see permit for definitive list). You will also need a permit if you are planning to bring a van or a pickup; or a trailer with a twin axle or a vehicle that is more than 1.8m long x 1.2wide. Permits are free and easily available;  you can either apply for your permit online below or you can call us on 01234 718013 and we will send a form out to you.

Disposal of furniture

If you're looking to dispose of furniture in a reasonable condition, working white goods or electrical items in reasonable condition then stop!

There are many local charities across Bedford Borough looking to pass your items on to those in need. Please consider passing on items to local charities before taking items that are in a reasonable condition to the HWRC.
