Gypsy and Traveller Sites Plan
The Gypsy and Traveller Sites Plan will allocate land to meet
the need for Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation in the borough. It
has to conform to the approach set out in the council's Core
Strategy and Rural Issues Plan, in particular the broad location
for development and Policy CP9 which sets out the approach to be
taken to the allocation of sites for Gypsy and Traveller
development.
The preparation of the Gypsy and Traveller Sites Plan is being
undertaken following the resolution of the council's Executive on
13 July 2011 to split the allocation of Gypsy and Traveller sites
from the main body of the emerging Allocations and Designations
Plan. The Allocations and Designations Plan will progress
independently. Further detail about the reasons for this decision
can be found in the
Executive papers. The Local
Development Scheme has been reviewed to take account of this
change.
