Documents of the BDF
Preparing the documents of the Bedford
Development Framework is an ongoing process and getting
one of the 'major' documents of the Framework adopted can take
years. The BDF is set to replace the Bedford Borough Local Plan
2002, the predecessor of the Bedford Development Framework. Each
time a new document in the BDF is adopted, older policies of the
2002 Local Plan are superseded. Eventually the idea is to replace
the entire Local Plan with new policies and documents but in the
mean time, certain policies in the Local Plan remain active.
