What is the Bedford Development Framework?
The Bedford Development Framework (BDF) is a series documents
that sets out the spatial strategy for Bedford. A 'spatial
strategy' is one which takes into account social, economic and
environmental factors such as health and housing and which does not
purely focus on the regulation and control of land. As new BDF
documents are adopted by the council, their policies will
eventually replace those in the Bedford Borough Local Plan 2002.
