Norse Road (phase 3)

Norse Road phase 3 was granted outline planning permission on
the 8th August 2007 following a public inquiry.
The scheme was originally submitted by Hallam Land
Management Ltd & Gleesom Homes PLC but has now
been taken over by Orbit Homes. The scheme for 321 dwellings
has only just commenced following a period of remedial work to
the land.
The site is situated to the north of Bedford adjacent to
Norse Road cemetery. As part of the approval consent was also
granted to extend the existing cemetery site.
Out of the 321 dwellings, 97 will be affordable units and 34
will be mobility units which is in line with our current
policies. A football pitch will also be incorporated into
the scheme as well as a pavillion and numerous childrens play
areas.
