Core Strategy & Rural Issues

The Core Strategy and Rural Issues Plan Development Plan Document sets out the long term spatial vision for Bedford Borough to 2021. It was adopted by the Council on the 16th April 2008. The plan is available to view below. Paper copies are available from Planning Services, at a cost of £5 plus 50p postage and packing.

The plan was produced between 2005 and 2008. Consultation was undertaken at various stages in accordance with the appropriate Regulations and the Council’s adopted Statement of Community Involvement. Many responses were received. The plan was submitted to the Secretary of State in July 2006 and an independent Inspector held formal hearing sessions during September-October 2007 and January 2008. The Inspector concluded the plan was sound in his report of 12th February 2008.
