Infectious Disease Information
The Commercial Regulation team is involved in
arrangements to contain any outbreak of these diseases and minimise
their spread.
The team is informed of infectious disease
cases by the Consultant in Communicable Disease Control at
Bedfordshire Health. If you think you may be affected by a disease
which was food borne, you should go to your G.P.

When will contact the patient to find out the
background to the case, and to try and establish the source of
infection. The main purpose of this is to prevent the spread of the
disease within the community.
We will then give advice relating to the
control measures the patient should take to reduce the risk of
transmitting the disease to others. Treatment of the disease is
controlled by the G.P.
