Dangerous Dogs
There are certain types of dog that are banned
by law. Whether a dog is banned depends upon what the dog looks
like rather than the name of the breed and the court will decide if
a dog looks like a banned type.

The types of dog that are banned are:
- Pit Bull Terrier
- Japanese Tosa
- Dogo Argentino
- Fila Braziliero
Some of these dogs can be exempt from the ban
but only if this has been decided by the courts. It will then need
to be placed on the exemptions register and have further
restrictions place upon it.
Other breeds of dogs can be considered
dangerous if they are dangerously out of control. A dog can be
dangerously out of control if:
- It injures a person or animal

- If it behaves in a manner which makes the person believe it
will injure them.
If you have any concerns over dangerous dogs
then you should contact the police on 01234 841212 or 01234
271212.
