Livestock Markets & Bio Security
Bio security means taking steps to make sure
that good hygiene practices are in place. It is imperative
that all involved in the livestock industry continue to take all
possible precautions to ensure that animal disease is not spread
from farm to farm. The Department for Environment, Food and
Rural Affairs (DEFRA) have recently published new guidance for
keepers of livestock and those who visit farms.
Bedford Borough Environmental Health &
Trading Standards Service has a duty to ensure the rules concerning
bio security are being complied with. Any alleged breaches of
legislation will be investigated.
If you suspect that someone has broken any of
these rules please contact the Environmental Health & Trading
Standards Service.
