Feed Businesses
Registration requirements: The Feed (Hygiene
& Enforcement) (England) Regulations 2005 require all feed
businesses to register with the Trading Standards Service.
Who needs to register?
Certain feed businesses (Establishments &
Intermediaries) were previously subject to approval or registration
if their activities involved the use of certain additives. These
businesses will continue to require registration or approval but
the scope of registration has been extended.
If you are involved in any of the following
activities you too will need to register.
- Manufacture and/or placing on the market of
feed additives
- Manufacture and/or placing on the market of
premixtures
- Manufacture and/or placing on the market of
bio-proteins
- Manufacture and/or placing on the market of
compound feeding stuffs
- Manufacture of pet foods
- Manufacture and/or placing on the market of
feed materials
- Transport of feed and feed products
- Storage of feed and feed products
Is there a fee?
No - there is no fee payable in respect of a
registration.
