Youth Innovation Fund
We are giving Parish
Councils, community groups and voluntary organisations the
opportunity to bid for grants of up to £3000 to start up, improve,
or expand sustainable youth provision in Bedford Borough. In
2012/ 13 Bedford Borough was selected as one of 12 Youth Innovation
Zones across the country. Youth Innovation Zones were developed by
Central Government in response to the Government’s ‘Positive for
Youth Agenda’ to assist the wider development of new approaches to
youth provision to ensure that all young people have access to high
quality things to do, places to go, support services and can
achieve their potential. There are currently 9 pilot
areas in the Borough, all adopting their own approach to provide
activities and services for young people. More information on
these pilot areas can be found here.
The Youth Innovation Fund
is a local initiative that has been set up to build upon the
success of Bedford Borough’s achievements in the 2012/ 13 national
Youth Innovation Zone, and aims to further develop and improve
community led youth provision.
Applications will be reviewed by a panel led
by young people to decide which are successful.
The deadline for
applications is 7th March 2013.
