“The LINK young
advisers are a group of young people aged up to 19 who are trained
to work with organisations and services in Bedford Borough Council
to provide ideas and recommendations on making their
publicity/publications child and young people
friendly.”
The LINK VICE VERSA offer to services or
organisations
- Advice on improving services
- Work with us as a focus group where we can
give you ideas and views on things
- Youth proof documents or information with
ideas and recommendations of how to improve for the youth
market
- Carry out service user feedback
- Support you to develop service user
feedback
- Carry out observations of practice
- Carry out inspections of services providing
reports with no cost, low cost and big cost recommendations
- Support with recruitment and selection of
staff
- Deliver training for your organisation or
team
The group meet regularly and are always
looking for new members who will receive training in how to do
observations and inspections, how to write reports and how to
interview people.
So far we have:
- Carried out 3 inspections of health setting
as part of the You’re Welcome NHS quality mark
- Provided youth proofing feedback to 4
organisations through reviewing documents, websites and meeting
with organisations in focus groups
- Undertaken inspections of facilities for 2
organisations to improve services for young people
- Visited 5 youth clubs as part of the Project
Youth Club campaign with the Youth Cabinet
