Transfer to Secondary School

A growing number of primary and secondary schools in the area means that most parents will need their children to transfer to secondary school at 11+ (the end of year 6).  There are also secondary schools in other local authorities.

If your child is attending a local authority primary school, or a middle school that will not have a Year 7 year group in September 2018 and is due to transfer to secondary school in September 2018, you will receive an information sheet from your child's current school during the Autumn term 2017.

To help you with this process we have produced a School transfer booklet(PDF document opens in new window).
We strongly recommend that you apply for a school place using the online facility, which will be available to you at the start of the admissions process.

You will be able to download a transfer to secondary school application form(PDF document opens in new window),

If you are applying for a secondary school place and you are not resident within the Bedford Borough area you should contact your own local authority for an application form or you can apply online to your local authority.

Open days / evenings

Details can be found in the School transfer booklet (please see link above).

Closing date for applications

31 October 2017
