Transfer to Middle School

If your child is attending a local authority lower school and is due to transfer to middle school in September 2016, you will receive an information sheet from your child's current school during the Autumn term 2015.

To help you with this process we have produced a School transfer booklet (PDF document opens in new window).
Nb Please note that the changes to the admissions arrangements indicated in the booklet in respect of Sharnbrook, Lincroft, Harrold Priory and Margaret Beaufort are no longer going ahead.  A revised booklet will be issued in due course.  Up to date information is available on the schools' websites.

We strongly recommend that you apply for a school place using the online facility, which will be available to you at the start of the admissions process.

You will be able to download a transfer to middle school application form   (PDF document opens in new window).

If you are applying for a school place and you are not resident within the Bedford Borough area you should contact your own local authority for an application form or you can apply online to your local authority.

Open days / evenings

Details can be found in the School transfer booklet (please see link above).

Closing dates for applications

15 January 2016.

Children attending a lower school will also be able to apply for a Year 5 place at a primary school in accordance with the provisions of this scheme for In Year admissions.
