Music Hub Partners

As lead organisation for the Bedford Music Hub, Music for Bedford Borough (MfBB) works in partnership with a number of music educational organisations, that specialise in specific musical genres.

 

Bedford Music Co-operative

Bedford Music Co-operative offers instrumental tuition on a 1:1 or small group basis, and specialist projects in certain instruments (e.g. Bassoon, French Horn etc).  In partnership with Music for Bedford Borough it also offers ensembles and pathways for progression, as well as demo concerts.

Bedfordshire Music Trust

Bedfordshire Music Trust run holiday courses for students who already play an instrument or sing but who are looking to take part in high quality ensembles or groups.  They also run an annual Orchestral Jamboree for young musicians at about grade 1 standard.

Conscia Jazz 

Conscia Jazz offer a wide range of Jazz workshops to schools and organisations, which can be tailored to any age group.

The Sound Garage

The Sound Garage offers Samba and African drumming workshops, Rock & Pop support to schools and also delivers one-off Rock & Pop workshops or six week courses to schools who want assistance getting a Rock School going.  They also offer Music Technology consultation and an instrument fixing service to schools as well as recording  sessions in their studios.

The Philharmonia Orchestra

The Philharmonia Orchestra organises Key Stage 2 concerts at the Bedford Corn Exchange.  Primary children will have the opportunity to experience the Philharmonia Orchestra Live in concert.

Bedfordshire Orchestral Society

The Society supports musical education  and also provides high-quality classical music performed by musicians from the locality.  There are two orchestras: The Bedfordshire Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and the Bedford Sinfonia (BS).

The Friends of Bedfordshire Youth Music

The association of parents and other well-wishers of young musicians throughout the county was established as a registered charity in 1971.  The Friends support the work of the Bedfordshire Music Trust and the music services of Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough, together with that of Milton Keynes and the Borough of Luton, in promoting and sustaining musical performance by the young people of Bedfordshire.
