We are committed to raising standards
in the early year's education, childcare and playwork
sectors.
In doing so it recognises the
importance of practitioners' initial and ongoing professional
development.
The Training Directory is an important
element in supporting the development of a well qualified workforce
and in securing high quality provision. It contains a broad
cross-section of courses to support qualifications and continuous
professional development. We hope producing a yearly training
programme will aid you in planning an annual learning and
development programme for you and your staff.
Please take time to familiarise
yourself with the new sections. The courses contained in the
sections are pertinent to the practitioners concerned, but please
look through all sections as some courses might be relevant to you,
e.g. First Aid Training.
This year's training
directory will be on line. Please see below for
the full details on courses and use the online application form to
book on your chosen course.
There are some subtle changes to
procedures for this year.
- No cheques will need to
be sent in with any application form online or in paper
format. We will invoice the number of practitioners you have
booked onto courses and who have been allocated places. We
hope this will stop the necessity for multiple course cheques to be
sent in and if places are not available, refunds or credit notes
issued.
- Note! Invoices will be
sent to settings. We will only invoice individuals if
specifically asked to.
- Invoices for BTAC
workshops will be sent to individuals.
- The
administration fee will not be refundable. We will
accommodate people who through no fault of their own cannot attend
a course and want to swap to another date or send a
replacement.
- If you do not attend a
course and we have not been notified in advance, you will be
charged the full course fee. This is in an attempt to enable
our waiting list system to be used more effectively i.e. If we know
you are unable to attend a course in advance we are able to offer
the place to people on the waiting list.
Should you need to cancel your place, please call our 24 hour
phone line 01234 228494 and leave your name and
number at least 48 hours prior to the course
commencing. The courses are subsidised and whilst you
pay an administration fee, you are reminded that this is
non-refundable. Failure to attend a course will result
in your being invoiced from £76 for the full
unsubsidised amount stated in the Training Directory.
As a consequence of the budget reduction, we are no longer able
to provide lunch, please bring your own.

Booking Fee currently £10.00 per day for CPD courses,
and £45.00 for Paediatric First Aid.
The above fees are effective until March 2013. This
could be subject to change from April 2013 in the new financial
year, due to budget cuts.
