Childcare Sufficiency Assessment
What is a Childcare Sufficiency Assessment?
Under the Childcare Act 2006, Bedford Borough Council has a duty
to make sure there is sufficient childcare provision in the Borough
to enable parents to work, or undertake education and training
leading to work. In support of this duty, we are required to carry
out regular assessments looking at childcare supply and demand in
the area. This is called a Childcare Sufficiency Assessment (CSA).
The assessment helps us to identify if any gaps exist in the
childcare market. By working closely with our partners we will be
able to plan how to address these gaps.
