· To carry out all duties with full regard to Bedford Borough Council’s Corporate Plan, Strategic Plan and Sports Development Plan, and compliant with the Council’s Equality and Diversity Policy, Health and Safety Policy and confidentiality and data protection requirements.

·  To undertake such other duties appropriate to the grade and character of work as may reasonably be required by the Leisure & Sports Development department, as directed by the Principal Sports Development Officer 

· Hours will vary according to the event or programme you volunteer on.  There will be opportunities all year round with some unsociable hours, working around the volunteer's personal commitments

Details:  Being a parent or having parenting experience is desirable however if you can demonstrate a commitment to working with families and / or children as a career choice we would also like to hear from you. FACES provides practical and emotional help to families with complex issues and living in the Bedford area.

We have an on-going waiting list of families in need of regular support. The criteria for being a FACES volunteer is to be able to attend an 8 session training course, be able to offer a commitment of at least 3 hours visiting a week, attendance at regular 6 weekly one to on supervision and the ability to complete and submit diary sheets. . In return you will receive out of pocket expenses, on-going support and supervision and a choice of development. We are particularly looking to increase the diversity of our team and welcome volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds.
