Main duties include:

Job title:  Crèche Volunteers

Skills/ Qualifications:  Volunteers need to be interested in childcare and working with children, childcare qualification desirable.

Details:   YMCA Bedfordshire delivers Family Learning courses in schools and children centres in Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire.  Volunteers will be required to look after children and play with them alongside the session leaders.  Creche is in the same or a nearby room where parents are attending the course.  Course session is about 2 hours each week.  Ideally, volunteers need to commit for the whole length of the course (5 to 11 weeks).

Volunteers need to undergo an enhanced DBS check (fund by YMCA Bedfordshire).  Support, advice and training is available throughout the volunteering.

FACES provides practical and emotional help to families with complex issues and living in the Bedford area.

We have an on-going waiting list of families in need of regular support. The criteria for being a FACES volunteer is to be able to attend an 8 session training course, be able to offer a commitment of at least 3 hours visiting a week, attendance at regular 6 weekly one to on supervision and the ability to complete and submit diary sheets. . In return you will receive out of pocket expenses, on-going support and supervision and a choice of development. We are particularly looking to increase the diversity of our team and welcome volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds.
