Using our website and finding your way around the site.
Welcome to the new look Bedford Borough Council website.
This page has been created to help you find your way around the
site easily, taking into account the changes we have made to the
layout.
Changes to the Homepage.
Central to the new homepage is our ‘news hub’, where you can
find out information about the latest council projects, community
events, council news and our contact details in the most prime
location.
On the homepage you will see a main menu running down the
left-hand side of the page. This menu lists our services and
was previously located along the top of the homepage. If you click
onto any of these pages you will be taken to that section.
From here you will have to go back to the homepage to view the
other sections.
Underneath the main menu section, you will find access to carry
out online payments. This was previously located along the top of
the homepage.
Searching for what you need.
At the top of every page you will find an A-Z of services that
are available from Bedford Borough Council, and a search engine.
This is also the area where you can access help information.
The search engine allows you to search all the content on the
site by using ‘keywords’ rather than sentences. The results page
for any search you carry out will then show you every link that
relates to your search, the content, the date the page was created
and a description of content. Please note that related links will
be listed in order of the number of times a keyword is included in
the content (this may not be the most relevant link for your
search).
