age brackets, please do so)
c.religion of child referred
d.ethnicity of child referred

|
I can confirm that the information you
requested is held under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
However, the Freedom of Information Act 2000 does not oblige
the Council to comply with a request for information if it
estimates that the cost of complying with the request would exceed
the “appropriate limit.”
This appropriate limit has been set in the
Freedom of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and
Fees) Regulations 2004 which provides that for a local authority
the appropriate limit is £450. This is calculated by reference to a
maximum of 18 hours being taken and the cost of staff time being
set in the Regulations as £25 per hour. The Regulations also
say that In calculating the amount the Council may, “for the
purpose of its estimate, take account only of the costs it
reasonably expects to incur in relation to the request in: (a)
determining whether it holds the information, (b) locating the
information, or a document which may contain the information, (c)
retrieving the information, or a document which may contain the
information, and (d) extracting the information from a document
containing it.”
The Council has therefore decided to refuse
your request with regards to Part A of your request, please see
explanation below.
I would like to know:
a) The number of children (under-18s) referred
to the local authority due to concerns that they are vulnerable to
extremism. I would like this information to be broken down by the
following years: 2014-15, 2013-14, 2012-13, 2011-12
For each year I would like this information to
be provided on an anonymised case basis, including the following
information:
a) date (dd/mm/yyyy)
b) age of child referred (if
you are only to provide information by age brackets, please do
so)
c) religion of child
referred
d) ethnicity of child
referred
e) source of the report (ie.
school professional, college professional, medical professional,
member of the public)
f) reason for
referral (if you are unable to release specific information, please
indicate if the reason falls within any of the following
categories: viewing radical material online; possessing radical
material such as leaflets or books; demonstrating support for
terrorist groups through other non-violent behaviour; demonstrating
support for terrorist groups through violent behaviour)
g) whether or not the report
was passed on to the police
h) whether or not the child
was added to the child protection register
i) whether
or not the child has been taken into care
Response: Extremism isn't one of the
official DfE categories, as a result is not recorded on our case
management system (AzeusCare). In order for us to
obtain this information would require is to go through 1,000s of
referrals manually to check for elements of extremism, to do this
would exceed 18 hours.
b) How many Prevent coordinators work for the
authority? If this number has increased over the past 4 years,
please indicate when and how many additional coordinators were
recruited.
Response: Nil
c) What is the local authority’s budget for
prevent? Please provide figures for the years 2014-15, 2013-14,
2012-13 and 2011-12.
Response: We do not budget at the

Please can you tell me how many children are receiving any
Applied
Behavioural Analysis (ABA) provision - whether it is provided in
an

special
school or alongside mainstream school at any age in a
part-time
home/school programme. *ABA is sometimes called VB or Verbal
Behaviour.
Please can you then tell me how many of them had Applied
Behavioural Analysis due to a tribunal order and how many
receive
this without a tribunal. If without a tribunal, had parents
initiated legal action but reached settlement with you for
ABA
before tribunal took place?
Please can you forward me any policy documents that are
associated
with the awarding of any Applied Behavioural Analysis provision
and
demonstrate how the decision is made.
Finally, please can you explain your rationale for awarding
Applied
Behavioural Analysis without tribunal orders. Are your criteria
