London 2012 Olympic Games in Bedford Borough

The London 2012 Games is the sporting event of a lifetime and Bedford Borough will be playing it's part before, during and after the Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer.

The Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games took place on Friday 27th July at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford. However, Bedford Borough has been well into the Olympic swing before then with Olympic and Paralympic teams staying in the borough throughout June, July and August.

On Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th August, the Paralympic Flame is coming to Bedford Borough as one of 36 communities across the UK which will host a Flame Celebration Event. The flame will be at the Bunyan Centre (Mile Road, Bedford, MK42 9TS) on Saturday between 10am and 2pm. On Sunday it will be at Bedford International Athletic Stadium between 1pm and 5pm (Barkers Lane, Bedford, MK41 9SB) during an inter-counties track and field championships event. Further information is available via the link on the left hand side.
