Santa to ride his magic carpet into Bedford this Christmas!
The spectacular Fire and Light Show takes place along the
Embankment in Bedford on Tuesday 29th November and this year’s
event promises to once again provide a fantastic start to the
Christmas festivities in Bedford town centre.
The festivities start from 7pm with fireworks set to music along
the River Great Ouse. This year’s show is Aladdin themed but
further details on what we can expect from the show are being kept
firmly under wraps!
When the show is finished, Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave
Hodgson will flick the switch and the Christmas lights across
Bedford town centre and along the Embankment will come to life.
Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, said: “The Fire and
Light event is always a spectacular show for the whole family and
is a fitting way to officially start Christmas in Bedford town
centre.
“It all kicks off from 7pm so get there early to get a good spot
and help welcome Father Christmas to Bedford!"
This year’s event will be sponsored by Tesco Metro, Midland
Road. Store manager, Sobia Saleem, said: “We feel really proud to
support this year’s Christmas Lights Switch on and Victorian
Christmas Fair. People really look forward to these festive
events and consider it to be one of the highlights for the local
community.
“We want everyone to come along and see Father Christmas, soak
up the festive atmosphere and get into the spirit of
Christmas.”
