Faure - Requiem at Bedford
Corn Exchange

Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924) began work
on his Requiem in 1887 following the death of his
father in 1885 and his mother two years later. At the time, he was
choirmaster at the fashionable church of the Madelaine in Paris
where the first performance took place. As well as other music by
Fauré, the concert will include ‘Song of Destiny’ by
Brahms. The Choral Society will be joined by Bedford Sinfonia and
conducted by our Musical Director, Ian Smith. Tickets cost £15, for
