Bedford Sports Awards - Nominations now open!
Nominations are now being taken for Bedford Borough’s biggest
sports awards ceremony.
The Bedford Sports Awards are organised by Bedford Borough
Council and recognise and celebrate the superb contributions made
by a huge range of people to sporting success in Bedford
Borough.
The awards ceremony takes place on Monday 12th December at
Bedford Corn Exchange. However, the deadline to nominate a person
or a team for one of the 11 awards on offer is November 23rd.
Councillor Doug McMurdo, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and
Culture, said: “Bedford Borough can boast superb sporting talent,
and of course a range of high quality sporting facilities. These
awards are a fitting tribute to everyone who helps to promote sport
in Bedford Borough, from our Olympic hopeful athletes to the
volunteer coaches who give up a huge amount of their own time to
train our younger athletes.
“Last year’s event proved a huge success, with a record number
of guests and nominations and I am sure we can enjoy another
fitting tribute to the borough’s sporting pedigree.”
