Children in Need Activity at Borough Hall
Friday 19th
November 2010
Staff at Bedford Borough Council threw
themselves into raising as much money as possible for Children In
Need this Friday 19th November.
Activities on the day included a cake sale, a
quiz, an ‘X’ marks the spot treasure map game, guess the name of
the bear game and there were even signed Northampton Saints rugby
shirts up for grabs!
Dressed to impress while inspiring peoples’
generosity were the council’s ‘Customer Engagement Centre’ who
adopted a pirate theme. They collected money from staff while
dressed in shipmate attire.
The Mayor of Bedford Borough Council, Dave
Hodgson, said: “Children In Need is always a busy event within the
Council, we have supported it year-on-year. Our staff generate as
much money as possible for this excellent cause, and they do so
with impressive talent and imagination.”
The last count of donations revealed that £600
was raised by both the cake sale and ‘Guess the Name of Bear’
competition. The winner of the competition was Claire Minney, and
the bear's name was ‘Reggie’.
