Fujifilm UK
As part of the council’s ‘Open for Business’
programme the Mayor, Dave Hodgson, visited Fujifilm UK Ltd on,
Wednesday 9th March, to meet their senior management team and
discover more about one of the borough’s key employers and best
kept secrets!
On the day, Bedford Borough Council’s Chief
Executive, Philip Simpkins, also accompanied the Mayor as they
were greeted by Fujifilm UK’s Managing Director, Mr Matsushita.
Mayor Dave Hodgson said: “When I talk to
people about the major firms located here in Bedford Borough, I am
always struck by the fact that the presence of Fujifilm UK’s Head
Office does not seem to be widely known. Bedford Borough
boasts businesses that would be the envy of any town in the
country. Such businesses are the engine room of the borough’s
economy, providing employment in many sectors and generating much
of Bedford’s economic output.
We work extremely hard to attract new
businesses into the area and help foster links with the surrounding
community. However, it is also vital that we work with existing
businesses such as Fujifilm UK to help them thrive within the
borough, and we will continue to do so.”
Fujifilm UK is a subsidiary of Fujifilm
