Hydro Power Facility
On Monday 18th June, the Mayor of
Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, will officially open the Hydro Power
facility at the Boatslide Weir Bridge on the River Great Ouse in
Bedford.
The facility will generate approximately
168,000 kilowatt hours of energy every year, saving £32,000 and
70,000kilograms of CO2 at the Boatslide weir.
The official opening is open to all and offers
anyone the chance to see the Archimedes screw turbines up close and
learn exactly how the facility will generate clean, renewable
energy for generations to come.
