Have Your Say

Have Your Say- ‘Rights of Way’

Public consultation is open on a new five year programme about the public rights of way network across Bedford Borough.

Our vision is to enable people to use and enjoy the Borough’s Public Rights of Way network and to involve everyone in protecting and managing this valued asset.

The Council is responsible for nearly 1000km of footpaths, bridleways and byways open across the Borough. The Rights of Way Improvement Plan sets out our proposed aims, objectives and actions to increase public use and enjoyment of these routes over the next five years, from 2018-2023.

Cllr Charles Royden said “Public rights of way are an important asset for all people to use and enjoy. They enable people of all ages to explore their local countryside and experience its rich and diverse history, wildlife and landscapes. Please let us know what you think of our Rights of Way Improvement Plan for the next five years.”

The consultation is running for 6 weeks, until Monday 8th January and can respond in the following ways;

-          On our website at www.bedford.gov.uk/rowip

-          By email to consultingbedford@bedford.gov.uk,

-          By post to Consulting Bedford, Bedford Borough Council, Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP.

Hard copies will be available at Borough Hall, the Customer Service Centre on Horne Lane, and at the Libraries.
