Social Enterprise Seminar
HAVE YOU GOT A SOCIAL ENTERPRISING IDEA?
A ‘Social Enterprise…is it for me?’
Event will be taking place in the Community and
Voluntary Service (CVS) on Bromham Road on
Wednesday 25th January, supported by Bedford
Borough Council and Central Bedfordshire Council.
Aimed at people who have a business idea and
would like to support the local community, this event will explore
the concept of social enterprise through two seminars that have
been designed to help delegates understand what a social enterprise
is, offer practical advice on how to start one and provide a list
of useful contacts that can help interested parties along the
way.
‘What is a Social Enterprise?’ will start at
10am, followed by ‘How do you start a Social Enterprise?’ at
11.30am.
Mayor of Bedford Borough Dave Hodgson said:
“Social Enterprise can encompass a wide range of activities,
products or services and there are many opportunities that people
may want to pursue. Individuals can come along to this event to
gather information and pick up helpful advice, guidance and ideas
that could set them on their way to starting a new business which
makes a positive difference to the community. This event is an
ideal way to help local people looking to take steps to achieve
their professional goals and serve their local community at the
same time.”
The event has been supported by Bedford
Borough Council and Central Bedfordshire Council and is organised
in partnership with the Community and Voluntary Service, Social
Enterprise East of England, Exemplas, Natwest, HM Revenue and
Customs and Park Woodfine Solicitors.
