Borough Plans an Extra £1million Worth of Further Road Repairs
Wednesday 8th December
2010
Bedford Borough Council has announced the
extra 13 roads that are to be resurfaced across the Borough
following the allocation of a further £1 Million to improve the
Borough’s roads. This is in addition to the £3 Million that has
already been committed for this year.
The work will start as soon as it is practical
to do so and will continue until March 2011. Letters are now being
sent out to ensure that affected areas are made aware of the
plans. To ensure that minimum disruption is made to residents,
work to improve the roads will often take place during the evening
or overnight.
Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, said;
“This further investment shows our continuing commitment to
maintain our roads. Never before has so much investment taken place
in our roads across the Borough and I am determined to continue to
invest in our front line services. Borough residents want safe
roads and pavements and I am proud to say that more roads than ever
before are now being resurfaced.”
