How to get to the crematorium & cemetery

Directions by road

(North A1)

A1 South to Black Cat roundabout.  At roundabout take the 3rd exit onto A421 heading to M1/Milton Keynes/Luton/A6/Bedford/A4280.  Take exit toward Bedford/A4280/Gt Barford.  At roundabout take 3rd exit towards Bedford/A4280/Renhold. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto St Neots Road/A4280 heading towards Bedford. At the next roundabout (with Go Outdoors store on your right) take the 3rd exit onto Norse Road. Continue down Norse Road, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit (straight over).  The Cemetery/Crematorium is approximately 300 yards on the right.

 

(south & north M1 & West)

At Junction 13, exit towards Bedford/A421/Woburn/Ampthill/A507.   At roundabout take 1st exit onto Salford Road Turn right to merge onto A421 – keep on this road.  Exit towards Bedford/A4280/Gt Barford.

At roundabout take 1st exit onto St Neots Road/A4280 heading towards Bedford.   At the next roundabout (with Go Outdoors store on your right) take the 3rd exit onto Norse Road. Continue down Norse Road, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit (straight over).  The Cemetery/Crematorium is approximately 300 yards on the right.

South (A1)

A1 North to Black Cat roundabout. At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto A421 heading to M1/Milton Keynes/Luton/A6/Bedford/A4280.  Take exit toward Bedford/A428/Gt Barford.

At roundabout take 3rd exit towards Bedford/A4280/Renhold.   At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto St Neots Road/A4280 heading towards Bedford.   At the next roundabout (with Go Outdoors store on your right) take the 3rd exit onto Norse Road. Continue down Norse Road, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit (straight over).   The Cemetery/Crematorium is approximately 300 yards on the right.

South (A6)

Coming in from New Bedford Road/A6.  At the roundabout (1st exit Service station). Take the 4th exit onto the A421 ramp to A1/Cambridge.    Merge onto A421.  Exit towards Bedford/A4280/Gt Barford.  At roundabout take 1st exit onto St Neots Road/A4280 heading towards Bedford. At the next roundabout (with Go Outdoors store on your right) take the 3rd exit onto Norse Road. Continue down Norse Road, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit (straight over).   The Cemetery/Crematorium is approximately 300 yards on the right.

North (A6)

At the outskirts of Bedford, follow signs to Town Centre.  Continue on A6 Tavistock Street, The Broadway, left onto the A428 St Peter’s Street (Cambridge), continue on A428 out of Bedford (Goldington Road) along a short dual carriageway at end of carriageway turn left into Norse Road.  Continue down Norse Road, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit (straight over).   The Cemetery/Crematorium is approximately 300 yards on the right.

By Bus

From Bedford Bus Station, you can catch either the number 5 bus (headed towards Goldington, Hudson Road) which stops directly outside the Cemetery entrance/exit grounds.  If you get off nearest the exit of the cemetery grounds, this is nearest to the Crematorium building.  The Number 5 from the bus station takes approximately 21 minutes.

You can also catch the X5 from the Bus Station headed to St Neots.  There is a stop on Goldington Road (near Clearglaze (Viking Industrial Estate), there is then approximately 10/15 minute walk.

By Rail

Bedford Main Railway Station is located approximately 15 minutes away by a taxi or it's a 10 minute walk to Bedford Bus Station, (Bay 1) to catch the Number 5 Bus which takes approximately 21 minutes to the cemetery grounds.
