Archives & Records
The Archives Service of Bedford Borough Council is based at the
Riverside Building next to the Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street,
Bedford. It cares for the written, oral and visual heritage
of the Borough. It also provides the same service to the
Councils of Central Bedfordshire and Luton in respect of their
heritage. It aims to ensure that the heritage material
remains available to both present and future generations. The
Archives Service can be used to discover your Bedfordshire
ancestors, as well as uncover the history of buildings, villages
and towns in the historic county. You can also use the
collections to find out how national events were experienced
locally.
