Business Advice

Bedford has a strong entrepreneurial culture and in recent years business growth too has been strong. The Council works closely with partners to ensure relevant support and advice is available for those wishing to start-up and develop a business, so that our areas strong performance is built on.

Bedford Borough Council’s Economic Development Unit leads on the Bedford Development Agency; a locally focused business group, of nearly 500 local businesses, that helps support growth of local businesses as well as helping to ensure that the right environment exists to attract new businesses.

The Bedford Development Agency’s main portal of communication is through the Invest in Bedford website, where as well as the above, businesses may access an up-to-date database of available commercial property in and around the Borough, as well as an e-based business grant finder service.
