Bedford Borough Council is thrilled to announce the return of the highly anticipated Yoga and Wellbeing in the Park 2024. This year's event takes place on Sunday 9 June, 2024, at Bedford Park, near the Pavilion. The Bedford Borough Council Sports Development team are calling on local clubs, organisations, and passionate instructors to join the movement and create a truly special day.

Amy Stevens, Sports Development Officer at Bedford Borough Council, said, "Yoga and Wellbeing in the Park has become a cherished annual tradition, attracting hundreds of residents seeking a day of mindfulness, relaxation, and physical activity,"

She continued, "Last year's event was a tremendous success, over 270 people enjoyed more than 550 different yoga sessions from a choice of 18 activities, so we're excited to build upon that momentum this June."

The 2024 event promises a diverse and inclusive experience. Attendees of all ages and abilities can enjoy a variety of free yoga sessions led by qualified instructors.  The event will also feature a dedicated Wellbeing Information Desk offering valuable resources on mental health and overall wellbeing.

"We're now actively seeking local clubs, organisations, and qualified instructors to contribute to this year's event," continues Amy.  "We're particularly interested in showcasing a wide range of yoga styles, meditation practices, age-specific classes, and activities that promote holistic wellbeing, such as sound baths and laughing yoga."

Yoga and Wellbeing in the Park is completely free and open to everyone and there’s no need to book in advance. People can simply arrive on the day, sign a disclaimer at the registration desk, and enjoy the activities. Yoga mats will be available for loan to those who cannot bring their own.

Clubs, organisations, and qualified instructors interested in part of the event can contact Amy Stevens at amy.stevens@bedford.gov.uk. All instructors must have Public Liability Insurance and be fully qualified.

Keep an eye on www.bedford.gov.uk/yogaday for the latest information on confirmed sessions and the event schedule as June 9 approaches.
