Bedford Borough Council is responsible for the collection of household waste across the whole of the Borough. The Council works in partnership with Bedfordshire County Council to provide collection services for recyclable and green waste, as well as collecting normal household waste. The Council is committed to increasing the amount of waste that is recycled and reducing waste that is sent to landfill.

Bedford Borough Council, working in partnership with Bedfordshire County Council, has secured funding for orange lidded bins that residents can use instead of orange bags. Over the last few months we have been asking all of the Borough's residents to choose whether they would like to use a bin or orange bags for recycling. So far we have recieved over 25,000 replies, however this means less than 40% of residents have responded. It's not oo late to order your bin or bags - use the online order form below or call us on 0800 121 8888.

We had expected to begin delivering bins to those who have requested them this summer, however due to a Europe wide shortage of wheelie bins we may not be able to deliver bins until later this year. We are working with Bedfordshire County Council and bin manufacturers to try and ensure that the bins are delivered as quickly as possible. please keep an eye out on this webpage for updates on orange lidded bin delivery.
