Street Lighting
There are approximately 11,000 street lights and illuminated traffic signs on highways in our area. Well lit roads not only help to reduce traffic accidents but also help in reducing crime, and the fear of crime, against people and their property.

We do carry out regular night inspections of all lamps, every two weeks in winter and every four weeks in summer. Repairs are generally attended within five working days. However, some types of fault take longer to complete (e.g. those requiring the services of the local electricity company.)
