Pride in Bedford Community Awards

What are the Pride in Bedford Awards?

The Pride in Bedford Awards are an opportunity for various groups, individuals and members of the community to get recognition for their contribution to the area where they live. These awards are designed to let you have the opportunity to nominate people and groups you think have contributed in various ways to the community.

For the past two years Pride in Bedford has run the Pride in Bedford Community Awards to celebrate the work of volunteers across the Borough. The awards have grown in popularity, with nearly 200 people attending the last awards ceremony in June 2007.

T
his year Bedford Borough Council is working in partnership with the Times and Citizen newspaper to deliver the awards.

Awards will be given out to communities across the Borough in the categories listed below.

Nomination for an Award

Nomination of a person or a group for an award is through completion of a nomination form available from Pride in Bedford. The awards will be judged by a panel of judges.

Nominations can be received from any member of the community, including Councillors, paid workers and volunteers; however, the nominees themselves must be unpaid members of the community. A group or a person is also eligible to nominate themselves for an award.
